ONLINE SHOP / GALLERY. James Lethbridge Glass
Listed bellow are a selection of pieces that I make to sell online. These pieces stem from early designs up to my newer work this year in 2009. They range in price from £45 up to £1000. Some of these pieces I make on a semi - regular basis primarily for online sale through ebay and other sites and also some are purely one off pieces or a limited edition. They are being made with price in mind and all prices include postage and packaging to a UK address. For international postage please email me for a quote. Please note that due to the hand made nature of these items, that each piece is original, as it is very difficult to exactly replicate each component, so the piece that you order may appear slightly different than the item pictured. Also due to the hand made nature, your item may take up to two weeks to deliver to your door. Also the pieces of work are for sale through Paypal or on commission via invoice and payment through cheque or cash. Work shall begin on items paid for by cheque once the cheque has cleared.

Coalescence Study 2, is piece that was initially generated from the very first piece I completed in this aeshetic. All my work is hand made by myself using glassblowing, flame-working and UV glueing techniques. Aside from the glass - blown element, all the component pieces are made and assembled together, at my home in Yorkshire. . I suspect I shall only be doing a limited run of these small sculptures of about 50. Nearly all of these pieces comprise of both hand blown soda glass balls, and flame-worked borosilicate capillary tubing, which has been UV glued to a main body. It is approximately 150 - 160mm high by about 100 -120mm in width. It comprises of nearly 200 individually made pieces. |

Sunburst consists of over a hundred individual components all UV glued to a main body, which is a hand blown glass ball. As with all these small pieces I shall only be doing a limited run. The inspiration for this piece came from the study of celestial phenomonon. Sunburst's dimensions are approx 120mm to 140 - 150mm in diameter.
NOTE: 01/09/09 Please note that there has been a price increase on this item. |

| Shooting Star consists of over one hundred indivisual components, UV glued onto a hand blown soda glass ball, but has one spike / tentacle which is characteristically longer, which gives the piece its name. The piece itself is approx 120mm in diameter, by 140 - 150mm in height. |
*NEW* Influenza Virus
Ref No: 004 |
£149 |
| Influenza Virus was originally a commissioned piece for the birthday of a retiring biochemist, whos whole life had been devoted to the study of this particular virus. The virus translated into glass was brought about by studying online graphical representations, however, this pieces differs from those images in the way that truthfully, the virus itself, is not multi - coloured, as in the graphical representations. This piece is a strange looking item and is sure to amaze and spark conversation. Sizes are approx 120 to 140 - 150mm, depending on the diameter of the central hand blown ball. |
Hedgehog

£99 |
| The 'hedgehog' is piece which I have been making now for quite a long time. It consists of around 150 spikes, all UV glued to a hand blown soda glass ball, which has been indented with glass working tools whilst being blown. This allows the viewer to see the internal texture / effect which is created by glueing the spikes to the surface of the glass ball. Each hedgehog is approx 120mm to 140mm in diameter. |

| This Virus, in fact does not repesent any particular virus. It is purely a surrealist sculpture. I stands on it own, and has approx 500 individually made glass components UV glued to its hand blown glass - ball surface. This item was originally intended for a gallery in Birmingham, however I decided to keep it back for myself. As you can see in the photos the main characteristics are a thicker, longer protruding spikes, combined with 100s of 'rounded off' glass bits. This item is significantly larger than most and the price reflects this. It is approx 180 - 200mm in diameter, weighing in at approx 1.25kg. At this moment in time (25/04/09) this item has not been reproduced, and the item pictured is the item for sale. It is a one off, at present. However, if I do decide to replicate this item, because of its labour intensive nature, I would only do a limited run of 5 pieces. Also I am happy to provide a certificate appraising that this item is number one of 5, if need be. |

Cactus Light
Ref No: 009 |
£97 |
| This piece I entitle 'Cactus Light', for obvious reasons! Usually all the work I make is made by myself, however with this piece the green shade is a ready - made piece of glassware that is commercially available in the shops. However I have added to this shade, over 300 individually hand made, borosilcate glass spikes, which all have been made by myself. The spikes are adhered to the green shade using an ultra violet activated glue (UV glue), - the glue itself is transparent and so therefore invisble, they have also been applied in the form of a rough fibonacci sequencing. From the manufacturing of the spikes, to UV gluing to them shade, takes approx 8 hours. The average sizes of this piece are as followings: height is approx 230mm, with a max belly diameter of 290 - 300mm, with a bottom opening diameter with an average of 180mm. In looking at the photos you can quite clearly see also that the light throws out shadows from the spikes, giving the ceiling a speckled effect, and at the same time the transparent glass spikes, seem to trap the light at there tips and then radiate it. Because of the nature of the production methods, every shade I shall produce will make each one individual, - unique, - because no two pieces will be identical. WARNING! This item is a light shade, not an actual light! The commercial light shade comes with a fitting to adapt the shade to any light bulb holder, - In the pictures I have simply mounted the shade to our ceiling mounted light bulb holder using a traditonal teardrop light bulb inside. Also because of these items being made to order, they will take approximately 2 weeks to deliver to your door, however, - if you don't want to wait two weeks, please bid on the item, and this will enable me to begin construction ahead of schedule regardless of who wins the auction. I suspect I shall only be doing a limited run of these small lighted sculptures of about 10 - 20, depending on demand. Please contact me before deciding to buy this item, as the commercial shade may no longer be available, and I may not have any in stock. |

| Dandelion. The development of this little item of sculpture came about from a number of sources. Firstly, the stork and head of this item where made to complete 'Coalescence ii', however the head itselfs was initially developed from the study of pollen. It was just coincidental that this item looked like a seeding dandelion. It is essentially a stand alone sculpture, to be place laying down on a mantle or in a cabinet. It comes in 3 distinct sizes of head, with a stork of approx 200mm in lenght, with an average thickness of 6mm to 10mm. The stork itself should always have a gentle 'sweeping' curve to it. The prices on this item represent the fact that even in the smallest size there are approx 6 hours of labour going into this item. The head itself is made up of approx 200 or more tiny 4mm spikes. The head sizes are as follows in diameter: Small: 65 - 80mm, Medium: 85 - 90mm, Large: 95 - 100 -105mm. |
